NATIONAL POETRY CONTEST WINNER
Congratulations to Midwest Writers Guild member Terry Mominee. Her poem entitled January Rebellion has been selected as one of the winning 25 entries in the Writers Digest Annual Poetry contest. Winners will announced in the August edition of Writers Digest.

Midwest Writers Guild member Steven C. Scheer is successfully recovering from his recent surgery. We wish the absolute best for Steve and hope he is back in top form soon. His stentorian voice and indefatigable wit have become treasured fixtures at the MWG monthly meetings.

MWG has breakfast every Saturday through the month of August at Barnes & Noble in Evansville...it's more of a little get together/rap session...good cappuccino, conversation, and company. See you there.

MWG WRITING WORKSHOPS
Midwest Writers Guild member Brandt Dodson, M.D. will hold a writing workshop entitled Writing the Mystery Novel, at Oaklyn Branch Library (3100 Oaklyn Drive in Evansville, off of Oak Hill Road, just west of where that intersects with Lynch Road), on Tuesday, July 29, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A native of Indianapolis, with a background in law enforcement and the military, as well as being a successful podiatrist, Brandt is the author of the Colton Parker Mystery Series, and has just published his latest book, White Soul. Learn what it takes to develop and write a good mystery from someone who really knows their stuff when it comes to cops, crimes and the human condition!
